2001 Honda Passport Maintenance Schedule. Service at the indicated distance or time, whichever comes first. Do the items in A, B, C, D, and E as required for each interval. Follow the schedule below for normal driving conditions; for severe conditions, follow the schedule on the other side. Replace engine oil and filter. Check all fluid levels and condition of fluids; check for leaks. If needed, add engine coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and windshield washer fluid. Check battery condition. j #Inspect exhaust system (pipes, muffler, heat shields, hangers) for damage and deterioration: leaks and cracks. j Inspect brake lines and hoses for damage and deterioration: leaks, cracks, and chafing. j Inspect tie-rod ends, steering gearbox, and boots. • Check steering linkage for looseness. • Check condition of rack boots. • Check fluid lines for damage and deterioration: leaks, cracks, pinching, and chafing. j Check starter safety switch operation. j Lubricate accelerator linkage. j Lubricate body and chassis. j Rotate tires; follow the pattern shown in the Owner’s Manual. Check tire inflation and condition. Inspect cooling and heater hoses for damage and deterioration: cracks and swelling. Inspect front and rear brakes. • Check pads and discs for wear (thickness) and damage. • Check calipers for leaks; check tightness of mount bolts. • Check brake shoes for cracking, glazing, wear, and contamination. Check parking brake adjustment. Check brake pedal free play. Check clutch pedal free play. Inspect throttle linkage. Lubricate clutch pedal spring, bushing, and clevis pin. Replace air cleaner element. Replace coolant; use Genuine Honda Antifreeze/ Coolant. Replace power steering fluid.Inspect drive belt. Inspect clutch lines and hoses for damage and deterioration: leaks, cracks, pinching, and chafing.
