VW Golf GL 2-door Owner Manual.This is the last year for the fourth-generation Golf. So as a consequence, it gets no changes except for a software upgrade for its engine-control computer. A fifth-generation Golf went on sale in Europe in 2004, but we Americans will have to wait until 2006 to get it. There are two engine choices in the Golf. There’s the 1.9-liter turbo-diesel that makes 100 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque-available in the GL and GLS-and there’s also the familiar 2.0-liter that makes 115 hp. The Golf is a bit more expensive than its Japanese competition but offers a luxurious interior, the utility of a hatch, and a decent fun-to-drive rating. The structure is stiff, and although its engines are on the weak side, it goes down the road well enough. Since this is the current Golf’s last year, be sure to deal hard. Otherwise, wait a year for the entirely new, and more sophisticated, fifth-generation Golf.

2010 Jaguar XF Maintenance Schedule. Scheduled Vehicle Maintenance The Maintenance Schedules, found on pages 28 – 31, list all the required maintenance procedures and their intervals. Because of the need for specialized equipment and skills, it is strongly recommended that all service work be entrusted to an authorized Jaguar dealer. Maintenance must be carried out at the specified intervals. After each maintenance service, confirm that the Maintenance Service Record has been completed (pages 32 – 35). Should the vehicle have a high proportion of short journeys or operate in severe conditions, Jaguar recommends that the maintenance procedures be performed at intervals not to exceed six (6) months. It is perfectly normal for the vehicle to consume some engine oil during normal use. It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that the engine oil is maintained at the proper level in between the scheduled maintenance intervals. Additionally, more frequent checks of under hood fluids and tire pressures can help minimize your chance of being inconvenienced while on the road, and may extend the life of certain wear and tear components. Jaguar dealers may offer supplemental maintenance services as a convenience to those owners who do not wish to perform these services themselves. Heat Swapper OWNERS MANUAL. The HEAT SWAPPER™ takes heat generated by an existing water heater or boiler and transfers it to another liquid— commonly a pool or spa. The hot water from the heat source is circulated through a stainless steel coil inside the HEAT SWAPPER™. As the spa or pool water passes over the coil, the heat is transferred, but does not mix. The thermostat senses when heat is needed and starts hot water circulating through the coil. When the spa or pool water reaches the selected temperature, it simply turns the Taco circulating pump off. The electronic thermostat is very accurate and maintains the water within 1°F. of the selected temperature. Because of the all stainless steel construction of the heat exchanger, the HEAT SWAPPER™ can tolerate a wider variation of pH than a heater with a heat exchanger made of copper. However it is critical that the pH be maintained between 7.0 and 8.0—even for the stainless steel HEAT SWAPPER™. We do not recommend the Heat Swapper for heating salt water pools. Salt raises the conductivity of water which can make metals in contact with it more susceptible to electrolysis. The HEAT SWAPPER’s best feature is what it does not have—there is no pilot, pilot generator, pressure switch, gas valve, gas line, or flue vent. The HEAT SWAPPER™ is small, heats fast, and the Taco circulation pump uses only 96 watts to transfer the heat from the heat source.

Hydraulic Cylinder Service Manual.1. Always drain the pressure from a hydraulic system before performingany service work. Disconnect hydraulic lines from head and cap ports of cylinder. 2. Completely disassemble the cylinder using the exploded and assembly views as reference. No special tools are required except internal snap ring pliers. The piston rod assembly consisting of piston, piston rod and head cushion bushing (where used) are locktited and secured at the factory and are not to be disassembled. 3. After disassembling the cylinder, wash all metal parts in a non-fl ammable solvent. Rinse each part thoroughly and blow dry with a low-pressure air jet. Arrange the parts on a clean surface. Examine each part carefully. Replace all seals and any other worn or damaged parts. 4. Particular attention should be given to the piston rod (item 10) since cylinder leakage can result from a damaged rod. A scored rod might damage the rod bearing and, subsequently, the rod packing. Rod cartridge kits come with a new rod bearing plus seals (see Seal Kit table on page 6 of this manual.). 1. Remove the hex head bolts (item 15) from the head end (item 1). On the ME5 mount only, the rod cartridge retainer plate is held in place by socket head cap screws, which must also be removed. 2. Remove the retainer plate or fl ange (item 5) from the head end. Locate the screwdriver slot along the top of the rod bearing (item 16). Using a fl athead screwdriver, carefully pry the rod cartridge loose from the head in a fashion similar to opening a can of paint. The rod bearing assembly includes the wiper (item 19a), the rod seal (item 19b), the bearing o-ring and backup ring (items 19c-d), and the rod bearing (item 16) itself.

ALFA ROMEO “8C COMPETIZIONE” ALL COMPOSITE BODY AND INTERIORS.The limited edition Alfa Romeo 8C is based on a shortened Maserati Coupe platform; it will be produced in a total of 500 cars, already totally sold out. Voip Software . The car is driven by a Maserati-sourced aluminum 4.2-liter V8 engine making more than 400 horsepower. A six-speed gearbox with paddle shifters channels power to the rear wheels and can also be operated in full automatic mode. The shape of the car comes from Alfa Romeo “Centro stile”, and the structural design has been carried out by the FIAT group Company Elasis (Pomigliano D’Arco-Naples). The chassis is made out of steel coming from an original Maserati car, all the rest of the “Body in White”, plus most of the interiors, is made out of carbon fiber reinforced plastics. An exploded view of the car body outlining all the components is shown besides. The design requirements of the body are mainly weight, stiffness, crashworthiness, surface appearance. To meet these requirements an extensive design work has been conducted and the most appropriate materials have been selected. The fibers selected are mainly HS fibers and the resin system is structural epoxy cured at 135°C. Conversion Optimization . The manufacturing process is a well known and consolidated hand lay-up process, vacuum bagged and autoclave cured and pressure ranging from 0.2 to 0.6 Mpa. The moulds, following a very long tradition and experience of the composite manufacturing Company, are mainly made out of low temperature (60°C) epoxy resin with carbon fiber reinforcements, post cured at 180°C. The adoption of composite moulds allows the production of very accurate and dimensionally stable components. The Class A surface requirements are achieved thanks to the use of a special surface film adhesive and the epoxy primer sprayed directly onto the mould. Along with the coupe, the TT roadster becomes available in 2004 in a 250-hp, 3.2-liter V-6 Quattro version, with a double-clutch DSG (direct-shift gearbox) automatic transmission with a manual shift lever and steering-wheel-mounted controls. The Quattro system on the V-6 has been fortified to keep up with the power boost; Audi clocked the V-6 TT roadster’s 0-to-60 time at 6.6 seconds. Audi’s turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder, in 180- and 225-hp versions, is still offered on the TT. A six-speed manual is standard with the 225 hp.
