Samsung Galaxy S4 gets leaked KitKat firmware How To Install it on your S4
A test was performed with Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware on international version of Sasmung Galaxy S4 : GT-I9505 with Octa-Core Snapdragon 600 chipset.
The firmware is an open release for European Samsung Galaxy S4 users and is said that the ROM is highly functionable and quite stable with just few minor bugs.
SamMobile says "so far it’s been pretty stable, except a few minor hiccups here and there" but this is okay because it isnt a final release or a customer release, just a firmware for testing whether its working correctly or not.
Finally Samsung has moved from Green icons to white icons, which are basically stock icons of Google Android 4.4.2 KK OS, so theres nothing customized thing in the statusbar icons. There are some tweaks to the user interface. Also there is a transparent Notificatio bar, which looks cool but nothing done by Samsung here, just tweaked by Google in KitKat update. But, sadly, the interior of notification bar remains same as of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S4, I dont know why Samsung makes their user feels not upgraded because the UI is same! When Googles Nexuses receives updates, they always looks fresh and updated after updating the system by OTA.
Another thing that we noticed was the camera icon. The camera icon is now in the lower right side of the Lockcreen which looks like Facebook messengers popup messages. It allows users to access the camera application as soon as possible when they need it.
According to Sam Mobiles, the performance has been significantly improved of Samsung Galaxy S4 with this Android 4.4 Kit Kat build. Also Sam Mobiles reported that the UI is pretty stable with no lags on changing the device orientations. Further, they also said that the Benchmarks of this device seems to be bump up and are better than Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

How To Install/Flash Android 4.4 KitKat firmware by Samsung by Kies:
- Download the Firmware given in the link.
- Extract the firmware with any file extractor like WinRar or WinZip.
- Download and extract the Odin v3.09 too.
- Shut down the device and keep it untouched for some time.
- Now, press and hold Home + Power + Volume down buttons simultaneously to boot into Download Mode.
- Open the Odin on your PC and connect your PC while pressing those buttons. When you will see blue sign on Odin (the sign means that the device is successfully connected and the drivers are also installed) it means you are ready for the next step.
- In the AP section, add I9505XXUFNA1_I9505OXAFNA1_I9505XXUFNA1_HOME.tar.md5 file from the folder in which you extracted some files just now.
- Before moving to the next step, make sure RE-Formatting is not ticked in Odin.
- Click on the big Start button and have some coffee.
- Soon it will boot into Android 4.4 KitKat!
- If you have encourted some errors like Bootloop (Stuck in the Android booting) or any error while flashing then reboot to recovery and choose wipe/factory reset option to reset your internal SD Card and Android software.
- Reboot!

Samsung Galaxy S4 catches fire while charging overnight
A Samsung Galaxy S4 has reportedly burst into flames whilst set to charge, an incident that rises potential safety concerns around the Android 4.2.2 handset.
Something of an isolated incident more than a widespread issue, a Samsung Galaxy S4 owner based in Abu Dhabi has claimed that her iPhone 5 and HTC One rivalling handset caught fire without warning whilst plugged in to charge overnight.
“I cannot explain to you my extreme frustration, disappointment and extreme fear when I found my brand new Samsung Galaxy S4 burning at the charger connection to the phone,” phone owner Sarah Shurrub said in a correspondence to Samsung following the incident.
Describing the incident which took place late last month, less than a month after the S4 in question had been purchased, Shurrub added: “The phone was found burning, while charging. It’s only thanks to God that I woke up in the middle of the night and controlled the burning before it could cause damage to my home and family.”
Not quite a case of negligence on the owner’s part, the dangerous S4 had reportedly only been charging for a matter of hours when it combusted. “I woke up in the middle of the night to [attend to] my toddler, and it was about 2am at night. I think it was charging for about 3 hours by then,” the phone’s owner said.
While it is unclear as to the cause of the S4 started fire, Shurrub has suggested that Samsung has looked to amend the issue with the promise of free phones.
“It was agreed that they would replace [my burnt Galaxy S4] with a new phone, the flip cover that got burnt and as compensation, they will give me another brand new Samsung S4, though they don’t have a compensation policy and this is purely as an exception,” she wrote.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is one of the most popular smartphones on the market right now, with more than 20 million units of the 1.9GHz quad-core brimmed device shipping globally during the phones first two months on sale.
It runs a 13-megapixel rear-mounted camera and pairs a raft of premium hardware features with a collection of innovative software additions, including the eye-tracking Smart Pause and Smart Scroll.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom release date leaks coming to the UK July 8
A Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom release date has reportedly been set, with the camera heavy S4 spinoff pegged to go on sale in the UK on July 8.
One of a trio of Samsung Galaxy S4 spinoffs recently confirmed for launch, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom boasts an impressive camera with 10x optical zoom and will line up alongside the 4.3-inch Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and the waterproof Samsung Galaxy S4 Active.
While a number of recent reports have pegged the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini release date for this weekend, independent online retailer Clove has now claimed the S4 Zoom will go on sale a week on Monday.
Allowing wannabe S4 Zoom owners to pre-order their smartphone turn compact camera right now, the retailer has claimed the Android powered handset will start shipping on July 8. A Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom price tag has been set by the retailer at £442.80.
While Clove has stated “First stock [is] due week commencing July 8th,” Samsung has yet to offer any official word on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom release date.
In announcing the S4 Zoom, Active and Mini, Samsung suggested that, having looked to milk the cashcow that is its flagship smartphone brand dry, there would be no further Samsung Galaxy S4 spinoffs making an appearance.
“With the arrival of the Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S4 Active and Galaxy S4 Zoom we can finally say the Galaxy S4 range is complete,” DJ Lee, President and Head of Sales and Marketing for Samsung’s IT and Mobile Communications Division said.
A July 8 Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom release date would see the South Korean manufacturer’s new camera phone offering hit retailers just days before what is likely to become its biggest rival is formally announced. On July 11 Nokia, at a New York launch event, is expected to unveil the Nokia Lumia 1020, a Windows Phone 8 handset with a 41-megapixel PureView camera.

BlackBerry A10 to be game focused and shaped like a Samsung Galaxy S4
Fresh reports are claiming that the forthcoming BlackBerry A10 will come with an unexpected focus on gaming, and that itll resemble a Samsung Galaxy S4.
Echoing what an industry insider informed us last month, multiple trusted sources of BGRs have claimed that the forthcoming BlackBerry A10 smartphone is going to be the most capable, powerful BlackBerry yet with a media-friendly 5-inch Super AMOLED display.
More interestingly, the BlackBerry A10 will come with "a huge focus on gaming."
Despite being geared towards "power and gaming," the A10 will only come with a dual-core processor. Apparently, BlackBerry has been unable to make the jump to a quad-core architecture - either due to concerns over battery life or because of difficulties optimising BlackBerry 10 for a quad-core setup.
Still, this dual-core CPU will reportedly be backed by a healthy 2GB of RAM, and the BlackBerry A10 will apparently adopt the same silicon as the iPhone, with separate CPU and GPU processors. In the iPhones case, this has certainly resulted in a string of highly capable gaming smartphones.
The report also has something to say about the BlackBerry A10s design. Itll apparently closely resemble the Samsung Galaxy S4, though if anything itll be larger. Its also described as being "more rounded and less aggressive-looking" than the BlackBerry Z10.
Its claimed that we can expect to see the BlackBerry A10 launching some time this autumn.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini released in the UK priced £350
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini has been released and is now on sale in the UK with the Samsung Galaxy S4 spinoff setting wannabe owners back a considerable £350 on a PAYG basis.
Formally unveiled last month, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is a 4.3-inch spinoff to the flagship S4, seeing a scaled down take on the market leading handset sport a similar design but a drastically reduced spec. Leading network provider Three has confirmed that it will start selling the phone today, with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini to be available in all stores tomorrow, July 2.
“The Samsung Galaxy S4 mini offers many of the popular features that the original S4 does, just in a smaller shell, making it even easier to fit into your life, and your hand,” Sylvia Chind, Head of Devices at Three said. “With features such as social tag, people can update friends on fun and silly experiences, uploading pictures onto their favourite social networks quickly, using Three’s Ultrafast network.”
With the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini price set at a sizeable £349.99 when purchased on a PAYG basis, Three has confirmed that it will offer the dual-core Android handset for free when taken out on a two year, £26 per month contract.
A 4G capable handset, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will be compatible with Three’s 4G network when it launches in the future. At present only EE is offering the S4 Mini on a 4G platform from launch.
Giving wannabe owners a variety of options when picking up the first of a trio of S4 spinoffs which also includes the waterproof Samsung Galaxy S4 Active and the camera heavy Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, Three has revealed the Mini, on a £26 tariff will come bundled with the company’s Ultimate Internet 100 plan. Those after the popular One Plan can pick up the S4 Mini on a £32 per month deal.
Aside from the design, the Samsung Galaxy S4 features little in common with its big brother. A replacement to the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini it boasts a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display with a 960 x 540p resolution.
With a 1.7GHz dual-core CPU running the show, a Samsung Galaxy S4 specs sheet is further enhanced by 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD. While an 8-megapixel camera features on the handset’s rear, a second, 1.9-megapixel snapper up front.
