Has Apple made a resolution to release a Retina and non Retina iPad mini 2
According to the last piece of info we gleaned from the ever-churning Apple rumour mill, the company hadnt decided if it will upgrade its popular iPad mini with a Retina display.
In what is admittedly a speculation-raising twist, reports on Friday suggested that Apple will give buyers of the 7.9-inch iPad mini 2 the option of snapping up both Retina and lower-res non-Retina equipped models.
In its report, Taiwans reputable Economic Daily News (via Electronista) has claimed a shortage of Retina display panels means a potential Q4 2013 release has been scrapped in favour of an early 2014 arrival.
A report from earlier this week suggested that it was the decision over screen resolution itself could cause delays, but either way, it doesnt seem like the iPad mini 2 will arrive much before Christmas.
The long-running saga over whether Apple would launch a sequel with a higher resolution display has been going since the day the company initially announced the device in October 2012.
The relatively lo-res 1024 x 768 resolution was by far the most criticised feature of an otherwise widely-liked device, which sold by the truckload amid stiff competition from the likes of the Google Nexus 7.
Recent speculation has also suggested that the second-gen device would have a faster A6X processor, a touchscreen bezel or even no bezel, and, if a Retina display is on-board, a slightly thicker profile.
When will we see the new iPad mini 2 (or 2s), and what features will it/they include? Apple as yet to confirm even a single refresh to its smaller slate let alone a pair, so until we get official word were sure to hear everything from the plausible to the utterly implausible. No iPad Pro or iPad mini 3 expected in 2014 as iPad Air is tipped for update
Apple’s annual iPad updates look set to be pretty lean this year, with latest reports suggesting that while an iPad Air refresh is on the cards, no iPad Pro or iPad mini 3 will be released.
Although multiple rumours of a larger, iPad Pro have circulated in recent weeks, industry analysts have now suggested that Apple’s 2014 iPad collection will consist solely of an update to the 9.7-inch iPad Air.
Speaking in a note to investors, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has suggested that claims of an iPad Pro launch will not be fulfilled this year, with Apple unlikely to launch a 12.9-inch tablet to rival the CES introduced Samsung Galaxy Note Pro.
Claiming Apple will focus its development efforts elsewhere, Kuo offered a bit of wiggle room, stating: “Even if it (a larger iPad) does make an appearance this year, shipments will be low.”
Despite the success of the iPad mini, and subsequent iPad mini 2 which launched last November with a new Retina display in tow, it has been claimed that Apple will not launch a third-generation 7.9-inch tablet this year.
While consumers will have to make do with the iPad mini 2 for a further 12 months at least, serial Apple tipster Kuo has claimed the iPad Air will receive a specs bump this autumn.
Targeting two easy areas of improvement, the analyst has claimed that the iPad Air will be upgraded to a new A8 processor and introduce the TouchID fingerprint sensor incorporating home button found on the iPhone 5S.
According to Kuo’s insiders, Apple’s reduced tablet efforts are being forced by the company’s push to finalise Apple iWatch hardware and software for launch later in the year.
He added that “unless more aggressive promotions are launched,” a lack of new models will see annual iPad sales drop for the first time.

HTC One Mini release date news and rumours
The HTC One Mini is looking more and more likely as the rumours surrounding the handset continue to flow thick and fast.
With the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini last year, followed by the Galaxy S4 Mini this year, theres a clear market for cut price flagship smartphones.
The general rule, it seems, with these "mini" versions is they look almost identical to their big brothers but specs are slashed - quad-core becomes dual-core, full HD becomes 720p at best and cameras also take a bit of a beating.
While they may be "mini" in name, they arent exactly mini in nature with an average screen size of 4.3-inches making these handsets bigger than the iPhone 5 - so youll probably still need a decent sized pocket for the HTC One Mini.
Rumours of a One Mini handset first arose in April 2013, with early reports name checking the device as the HTC M4.
To help you get an idea of what you might be able to expect from the HTC One Mini weve rounded up all those unruly rumours into our smartphone pen for your perusal.
The trail is pretty cold when it comes to the HTC One Mini release date with no upcoming HTC event to speak of. Early reports suggesting itll arrive around the same time as the S4 mini have clearly been proven incorrect.
Bloomberg has tentatively suggested that the HTC One Mini release date may be in August, but as of yet we havent heard anything from the Taiwanese firm about a possibe event.
What we do have in the calendar however is IFA 2013 in Berlin, which could be the perfect platform for the HTC to launch its next smartphone - it might even show up alongside the HTC One Max.
If Samsungs pricing regime for its mini handsets is anything to go by then you can expect the HTC One Mini to sport a mid to high-end price tag which will see it go head-to-head with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, Sony Xperia SP, BlackBerry Q5 and Nokia Lumia 820.
A consistency noticeable through all the various leaks weve seen so far on the HTC One Mini is the screen size.
Back in May notable phone leaker @evleaks mentioned the One Mini would sport a 4.3-inch affair with a 720p resolution, and that news seems to have held true over the past couple of months.
While the 720p display may not sound as fancy as the full HD offering on the HTC One, at the smaller size youll still be getting a decent picture - just take a look at the Galaxy S4 Mini.
When it comes to power the HTC One Mini looks pretty unlikely to sport the quad-core processor of the One, instead having to settle for a dual-core chip instead.
Later rumours pegged the One Mini as having a Qualcomm-made 1.4GHz dual-core processor, which would put it slightly below the 1.7GHz chip in the Galaxy S4 Mini.
In terms of RAM it seems the One Mini is less likely to miss out, with 2GB quoted by several different sources.
Most reports seem to point towards Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as the operating system of choice for the HTC One Mini.
Another report went one further and "confirmed" the HTC One Mini would be running Android 4.2.2, with the firms Sense overlay obviously in play too.
Its probably unlikely that well see a Google-Edition of the HTC One Mini which runs the stock version of Android, as we reckon that makeover will be reserved for flagships only.
HTC made a big song and dance about the Ultrapixel camera on the One and its low-light performance, but even the rumour mill has been pretty quiet on the snappers that may adorn the One Mini.
Its not clear whether well see the Ultrapixel shenanigans again, or if the Taiwanese firm decides to return to the more conventional megapixel setup - but apparently the One Mini will be able to record full HD video and capture Zoes with its rear camera.
You can probably expect to see a front-facing camera on the One Mini too, as this option is becoming an almost default feature nowadays - even on cheaper handsets.
The design of the HTC One Mini is expected to mirror that of the HTC One and, with that in mind, rumours that suggest itll sport the same dual front-facing speakers are likely to be accurate.
HTC may even stuff in its Boomsound technology into the One Mini alongside the Beats Audio tech which adorns all its smartphones.
Its thought that the One Mini will also carry 16GB of internal storage, but if it sports the same metallic chassis as its older brother the chance of a microSD slot being available is pretty unlikely.
That body may prove a barrier for hardcore battery fans, as the rumoured 1700mAh power pack is likely to be sealed inside the One Mini, never to see the light of day.

The design was then mooted for a third time in a couple of snaps claiming to show the HTC One Mini in black, with the layout matching that of the early render.

Micromax A200 Canvas Turbo Mini vs Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos
So Micromax is releasing their compact device i.e., Micromax A200 Canvas Turbo Mini. Lets have a war between Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos v/s Micromax A200 Canvas Turbo Mini. Both the devices are almost same so I decided to make a review of both the devices and present it to you. Are you confused to chose between Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos or Micromax A200 Canvas Turbo? If yeah, then read this article.
Display
Micromax A200 Canvas Turbo Mini has a 4.7 inch of capacitive touchscreen with HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels protected by Gorilla Glass 2.
Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos is a 5 inch device with a poor resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and pixels density of 187ppi which is really very poor. Devices like XOLO A500S has a much better display than this. Also the graphics of this device are not and the display is also not good but okay for daily users.
Micromax A200 has a better resoution, better protection, HD resolution. But the screen size of Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos is better than Micromax A200 (just 0.3 inch more than Canvas Turbo Mini).
But because of more better things in Micromax A200,
Winner: Micromax A200 Canvas Turbo Mini is the winner!
Form
Micromax A200 is 7.9mm thick with a touch screen of 4.7 inches.
Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos is 9.6mm thick which is slightly more than Micromax A200.

Micromax A200 Canvas Turbo Mini has a MediaTek MT6582 1.3 GHz Quad-Core processor whereas Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos has just 1.2 GHz Dual-Core processor. Both the devices are having same amount of RAM i.e., 1 GB. Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos lags much on the stock ROM because of its slow processor whereas Micromax A200 will not lag like Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos, so here also Micromax A200 Canvas Turbo Mini wins!

According to MMXNewsCaster, Micromax A200 Canvas Turbo Mini would have 4 GB of internal storage which could be further expandable up to 32 GB by Micro SD Card.(I am sure it will be 4 GB because of its processor which is a SoC) whereas Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos has 8 GB Internal Memory which can be further expandable up to 64 GB by a Micro SD Card. So Samsung takes up this round!

Operating System
Both the smartphones run on the same OS that is Android but are having different versions of it. Micromax A200 comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Operating System whereas Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos ships with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Operating System. But Micromaxs Android OS are stock vanilla whereas Samsung always stuffs feature in their OS to make it better and look more sweet! I would like to go for Samsung but because Micromax has later version of Android, MMX wins!

Both the devices are having same camera I mean the Mega Pixels are same. Micromax A200 Canvas Turbo and Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos, both of them has an 8 Mega Pixels camera but Micromax A200 Canvas Turbo has an 5 Mega Pixels front facing camera whereas Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos has an 2 Mega Pixels front facing camera, so simply Canvas Turbo Mini wins again!

Conclusion
If we round up all the things then Micromax A200 Canavs Turbo Mini is better because it wins in Shape, Display, Camera, Android and processor whereas Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos could win only in Storage.
If you are looking for a small device then Micromax A200 Canvas Turbo Mini is far better than Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos, but if you are looking for brand name then dont go for Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos! Go for any other device because I guarantee you that this device will lag too much!
Also if you are looking for a handy device then go for Micromax A200 Canvas Turbo Mini because it is just 4.5 inch big and quite sleeker than Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos.

iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 release dates delayed according to reports
Those holding out for the iPad 5 or iPad mini 2 release date could be in for a bit of a wait, with latest reports suggesting Apple’s eagerly awaited tablets are facing delays.
With Apple’s longtime manufacturing partner Foxconn suggesting it is no longer working with the Cupertino based company to produce its tablet lines, rumours have started to emerge suggesting both the 9.7-inch iPad 5 and 7.9-inch iPad mini 2 could be hit by delays.
While Apple has yet to officially acknowledge the impending arrival of either the iPad 5 or iPad mini 2, it has been widely suggested the next-generation tablets will hit retailers in September alongside the WWDC 2013 unveiled iOS 7 operating system update.
Due to the lack of formality surrounding the mooted tablets’ arrivals, we would suggest that the latest claims of potential delays are taken with a considerable pinch of salt.
The latest reports have suggested that Apple has ceased its partnership with Foxconn due to a lack of reliability on the manufacturing partner’s front. It has been claimed issues with the production of the iPhone 5 has forced Apple’s hand to act, resulting in potential delays to upcoming products.
With both the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 expected to launch later this year, it is believed the tablets, alongside the iPhone 5S, will be the first devices to come pre-installed with iOS 7.
While the iPad 5 is expected to a new, slimmer form factor similar to that of its 7-inch sibling, the iPad mini 2’s main improvement has been tipped to be the arrival of a new Retina display.

With both the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 expected to launch later this year, it is believed the tablets, alongside the iPhone 5S, will be the first devices to come pre-installed with iOS 7.
While the iPad 5 is expected to a new, slimmer form factor similar to that of its 7-inch sibling, the iPad mini 2’s main improvement has been tipped to be the arrival of a new Retina display.

CyanogenMod 11 Android 4 4 2 Kit Kat OS for HTC One Mini How to install it
Did you get HTC One Mini and want to upgrade it to KitKat 4.4 OS? If yes, then I have got an *extra* thing for you. I hope you know "CyanogenMod" ROMs. Most of you might know whats that, so I wont write a long paragraph on explaining what CyanogenMod is.
HTC One Mini users can now enjoy latest Android OS, Android 4.4 Kit Kat on their mini devices. Also, it is not 4.4 OS, it is based on latest CyanogenMod sources: 4.4.2 KK.
The ROM is built by recognized developer h8rift in XDA-Developers website, which is very much popular for development and Android tricks and tweaks. Also this ROM is compiled with 4.8 toolchain, which modifies RAMDisk by tweaking it and also it has modified load address.
The ROM is tested by users and is fully compatible with ClockWorkMod Recovery (touch recovery has not been tested yet) which is fully working on HTC One s-off and unlocked.

- The installationg guide of Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat CyanogenMod ROM is only meant for HTC One Mini users only, and not for HTC One or any other HTC or non-HTC device. If you are trying this ROM in your handset, then let me be clear that it wont boot in any device except HTC One Mini and MXRootRom holds no warranty about their devices.
- Make sure you have latest version of recovery. TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) v2.6.3.0 and CWM (ClockWorkMod) v6.0.4.5 is fully compatible with this ROM, if you dont have these recoveries, then also it will work fine.
- Backup your device before trying anything mentioned in this guide! You can make a Nandroid backup in CWM Recovery by going to Backup and Restore and selecting Backup option. For TWRP Recovery, go to Nandroid backup, and select every partition to backup them and press X.
- Do make sure that the drivers are installed on your computer to connect HTC One Mini so that you can transfer files (ROM and other ZIPs).
- Ensure USB Debugging option is working. To reveal the option, go to Settings, follow to About phone and tap 7 times on build number. Now go back and you will see a new option Developer options. Enable it and enable USB Debugging too.
- Make sure you have more than 70% of battery to install Android 4.4 Kit Kat (CM 11) on your device.
- Also confirm that your device is unlocked (depends upon carriers) and rooted with the TWRP or CWM Recovery.

How To Install Android 4.4 Kit Kat CM11 in HTC One Mini via TWRP Recovery
- Power off your mobile phone by pressing power button for sometime and clicking on Shutdown.
- Now press and hold Volume up and Power button simultanesouly for sometime and when there will be a splash, stop holding Power button but keep holding Volume down button until you are in Bootloader.
- Press volume down buttons to select Recovery option in the Bootloader console. Press Power Button to enter into it.
- Make a full wipe by pressing on Wipe data/Factory reset option (this will delete your all messages, emails, applications, data and everything except SD Card and System.) Now press Wipe option and swipe left to right on Swipe to factory reset option in TWRP.
- Tap on install and follow to the cm11.zip which you recently moved to your SD Card and click on it. After clicking on, it swipe on Swipe to confirm flash.
- If you want to flash GApps, then follow these steps again but replace CM11.zip by GApps!
- Now flash boot image (boot.img) file by fastboot. Select reboot and then tap to system to reboot your device.
- It will be soon running on latest Android 4.4 Kit Kat OS.
How To Install Android 4.4 Kit Kat CyanogenMod 11 ROM in HTC One Mini via CWM Recovery
- Shut down your device completely and keep it untouched for few seconds.
- Now press and hold Volume down and Power buttons for few seconds to boot into Bootloader. When you will see screen lightened up, then unpress Power button but keep pressing Volume down button. Now select recovery option from the recovery. (Use Power button to select the option and volume buttons to move up or down.)
- Perform wipe data/factory reset by selecting this option in CWM Recovery and confirm it (this will delete everything like TWRP except System and other filesystems.) Now go to advance and select on wipe dalvik cache and again, confirm the option. Go back and select wipe cache partition and confirm it!
- Select Install Zip from sdcard and select Choose zip from sdcard option in the CWM Recovery. Browse and select the cm11.zip ROM from your SD Card.
- Repeat all the actions (except wiping) to flash GApps as well on your HTC One Mini.
- Go back to the main menu of CWM Recovery and select reboot system now option from it.
- It will not take more than 10 minutes to boot into the CyanogenMod 11 or Android 4.4 Kit Kat OS.
If your device gets stuck at bootloop or doesnt boot till 10 minutes then wipe again without flashing the ROM from any recovery.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini released in the UK priced £350
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini has been released and is now on sale in the UK with the Samsung Galaxy S4 spinoff setting wannabe owners back a considerable £350 on a PAYG basis.
Formally unveiled last month, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is a 4.3-inch spinoff to the flagship S4, seeing a scaled down take on the market leading handset sport a similar design but a drastically reduced spec. Leading network provider Three has confirmed that it will start selling the phone today, with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini to be available in all stores tomorrow, July 2.
“The Samsung Galaxy S4 mini offers many of the popular features that the original S4 does, just in a smaller shell, making it even easier to fit into your life, and your hand,” Sylvia Chind, Head of Devices at Three said. “With features such as social tag, people can update friends on fun and silly experiences, uploading pictures onto their favourite social networks quickly, using Three’s Ultrafast network.”
With the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini price set at a sizeable £349.99 when purchased on a PAYG basis, Three has confirmed that it will offer the dual-core Android handset for free when taken out on a two year, £26 per month contract.
A 4G capable handset, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will be compatible with Three’s 4G network when it launches in the future. At present only EE is offering the S4 Mini on a 4G platform from launch.
Giving wannabe owners a variety of options when picking up the first of a trio of S4 spinoffs which also includes the waterproof Samsung Galaxy S4 Active and the camera heavy Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, Three has revealed the Mini, on a £26 tariff will come bundled with the company’s Ultimate Internet 100 plan. Those after the popular One Plan can pick up the S4 Mini on a £32 per month deal.
Aside from the design, the Samsung Galaxy S4 features little in common with its big brother. A replacement to the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini it boasts a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display with a 960 x 540p resolution.
With a 1.7GHz dual-core CPU running the show, a Samsung Galaxy S4 specs sheet is further enhanced by 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD. While an 8-megapixel camera features on the handset’s rear, a second, 1.9-megapixel snapper up front.
Measuring in at 8.9mm thick and 107g in weight, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is powered by Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS and a 1900mAh Lithium-Ion battery.

LG G2 Mini confirmed for MWC 2014 unveiling
Forget about the bendable LG G Flex, the Korean manufacturer has confirmed that the repeatedly rumoured LG G2 Mini will be officially unveiled at MWC 2014.
Having been the subject of multiple leaks and rumours in recent weeks, LG has confirmed that the LG G2 Mini, a smaller version of the flagship LG G2, will enter the realms of reality in less than two weeks’ time.
Following on the heels of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and HTC One Mini, compact, reduced spec siblings to the flagship Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One respectively, the LG G2 Mini has been confirmed by the company’s official Facebook page.
As well as offering up the first official image of the LG G2 Mini, shown alongside its big sibling, LG has stated: “Experience the MINI. Mobile World Congress. 2014-02-24.”
The dating of the company’s product teases has revealed that the handset will be formally showcased for the first time on the opening day on the show, Monday February 24.
Although LG has failed to offer any formal LG G2 Mini specs, recent rumours have suggested the phone will boast a 4.3-inch display, with the G2’s 1080p Full HD display dropping to a less than impressive 960 x 540p offering.
While the official image has confirmed the Mini will retain the G2’s rear-mounted volume controls, rumours have hinted that the handset will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and Google’s latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS.
With the LG G2 Mini confirmed for a February 24 unveiling, the handset is set to be unveiled on the same day as the eagerly awaited Samsung Galaxy S5, one of the most eagerly awaited handsets of the year.

iPad mini 2 release date may be pushed back down to Retina display
The iPad mini 2 may be delayed if Apple adopts a Retina-style screen for the small tablet, according to fresh reports.
Apple has nailed down exactly what the iPad 5 will be like, but has not yet decided whether to update the iPad mini with a Retina screen, according to DigiTimes.
The site writes that if Apple decides to use a high pixel density screen, the iPad mini 2 is likely to be delayed until “the end of the fourth quarter” – as opposed to being released alongside the iPad 5 in September.
DigiTimes appears certain that the iPad 5 will land in September, citing sourced “from the upstream supply chain”.
As reported elsewhere, the site writes that the full-size iPad will feature a slimmed-down screen bezel, as well as improved battery life.
All these nuggets come with a pretty serious caveat – they come from DigiTimes. The site is one of the most Apple notorious rumour-pedlars on the internet, and many of its predications and assertions turn out to be less than entirely accurate.
In June 2013, NPD DisplaySearch analyst Richard Shim claimed that a Retina version of the 7.9-inch tablet will not arrive until 2014.
